Activating an inactive Florida real estate license

Free real estate agent advise Florida

Question: I have an Inactive Florida real estate license. Do I need to activate it within my 2 year bi-annual license renewal timeline or else it will go null and void?

Expert Reply: No, you do not need to activate your license in Florida if you do not want to. In Florida, the current schedule to keep your license in good standing is every 2 years by completing the required CE course and paying a bi-annual fee to the dbpr. You are allowed to keep your license inactive for as long as you would like as long as you complete the requirements above. Inactive means that you are not currently active under a brokerage.
